Prague studio Sipral acquired an international contract for delivery of interior decorative bars for luxury boutiques of Louis Vuitton of Champ Elysées in Paris. Architects Peter Marino and Eric Carlson designed not only the metal bar, but also decorative inserts for the bar made from materials like porcelain, exotic wood, titanium and Czech crystal.
As the only company, ASTERA was selected to produce these crystal elements. We had to manage a complicated development. From manually made samples, to metal forms production, manually pressed gross semifinished product, manual grinding and polishing of the surface and even logistics of the packaging production and transportation. Some of the requirements of the superdemanding client were destruction tests or a wish that every insert could be taken out from the bar. Altogether we produced over 5000 glass decorative inserts in 3 versions: crystal, garnet red and goldbrown amber.
