International glass symposium in Nový Bor (www.igsymposium.cz) is indisputably the most important event in the world of glassmaking.
Once in a three years the best chosen artists and designers from all over the world meet together to create their pieces of work within four-day symposium along with czech glassmakers. We are proud that ASTERA co-organized the 11th year of IGS. In our studio, we hosted holland artists Barbara Nanning and Carina Riezebos, then a leading slovak artist Miloš Galbavý and russion engraver and professor of Russian Academy of Arts Alexander Fokin.
On the occasion of IGS2012 we managed to open our new studio, which was designed into a calm inspiring environment by architect L. Bogar . The flexible studio provided host artists not only a place for creative work, but also an intimate exhibition area. The opening fashion show became one of the best parts of IGS accompanying program and the products of the artists, who led our glassmakers’ hands are a decoration of symposium collection.
